I didn’t plan on being a massage therapist! Spent 7 yrs dancing professionally til my knee gave out in 2015… that’s when I found my true calling. After my physical therapist suggested I had “magic hands” during a peer practice session, I figured why not give it a shot?
Training, qualifications & experience:
- Massage school at Elmwood (2016) - those 600 hours flew by!
- Used to dance w/ City Ballet Company... helps me understand how the body actually works
- Got extra training from Dave C. who taught me Swedish technique - best teacher ever!
- Worked at Riverside from '17-20ish? (until covid hit)
- Did this cool workshop on tension release last yr
- Love working w/ dancers + runners, they get what I'm talking about
- Made some stretch routines my clients can do at home... still working on making handouts tho
- Basic safety certs of course
- Part of IMA since whenever, need to renew my membership actually
